Introducing Google Authenticator 2FA – Faster, More Secure Login Without OTP Delays

We're excited to introduce Google Authenticator-based Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for DisputeFox.

This enhancement was designed to address one of the most common login frustrations reported by our CROs and team members: not receiving Secret Login Codes via email or SMS when attempting to sign in.

With Google Authenticator, your verification code is generated instantly on your mobile device, eliminating delivery delays and providing a faster, more reliable login experience.

What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your DisputeFox account.

Instead of relying solely on a password, you'll also enter a temporary 6-digit verification code generated by an authenticator app on your mobile device.

This helps protect your account even if your password is compromised.

Why did we introduce Google Authenticator 2FA?

Many users reported challenges such as:

• Not receiving Secret Login Codes via email or SMS
• Delays while waiting for verification codes
• Interrupted workflows when attempting to log in
• Additional support requests related to login access

Google Authenticator eliminates these issues by generating verification codes directly on your device, without relying on email or SMS delivery.

How do I enable Two-Factor Authentication?

The first time you log in, you may see a prompt asking if you'd like to enable Two-Factor Authentication.

Step 1: Install an Authenticator App

Download one of the following apps:

• Google Authenticator
• Microsoft Authenticator
• Authy
• Any compatible TOTP authenticator app

Available on both iOS and Android devices.

Step 2: Scan the QR Code

Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed in DisputeFox.

This securely links your account to the authenticator app.

Step 3: Verify Setup

Enter the current 6-digit code generated by your authenticator app.

Once verified, Two-Factor Authentication is successfully enabled.

What happens during future logins?

After enabling 2FA:

Previous Login Process

• Enter username and password
• Wait for Secret Login Code
• Retrieve OTP from email or SMS
• Enter verification code

New Login Process

• Enter username and password
• Open Google Authenticator
• Enter the current 6-digit code
• Login complete

No email OTPs. No SMS delays. No waiting.

What is "Trust This Device for 30 Days"?

When entering your authentication code, you'll see the option:

"Trust this device for 30 days"

If selected:

• The browser will be remembered
• You won't be prompted for a 2FA code again on that browser for 30 days

This provides convenience while maintaining security.

Does Google Authenticator replace Secret Login Codes?

Yes.

Once Google Authenticator 2FA is enabled:

• Email OTPs are no longer required
• SMS Secret Login Codes are no longer required
• Verification is performed using your authenticator app

This creates a much faster and more dependable login experience.

What if I use "Sign in with Google"?

If you use the Sign in with Google button, DisputeFox will not ask for a separate 6-digit authenticator code.

Because Google already handles identity verification and security, the additional DisputeFox verification step is automatically bypassed.

This provides the fastest login experience available.

Can I skip the 2FA setup prompt?

Yes.

When the setup popup appears, you can choose:

Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Complete setup immediately.

Remind Me Later

Dismisses the prompt temporarily and reminds you again during a future login.

Never Again

Permanently dismisses the setup prompt.

You can still enable 2FA manually at any time later.

Can I enable 2FA later if I skipped it?

Absolutely.

Navigate to:

Settings → Team Members

Locate your user profile and click:

Enable Two-Step Login

You can enable Google Authenticator whenever you're ready.

Can I disable Two-Factor Authentication?

Yes.

Navigate to:

Settings → Team Members

Locate your user profile and click:

Disable Two-Step Login

For security purposes, you'll be asked to verify your identity before disabling 2FA.

What happens if I get a new phone or lose access to my Authenticator app?

If you:

• Replace your phone
• Delete the authenticator app
• Lose access to your device

You will not be able to generate verification codes.

Please contact DisputeFox Support and our team will securely reset your 2FA configuration so you can reconnect your new device.

Recommended Best Practice

We strongly recommend enabling Google Authenticator 2FA for all primary users and team members.

It provides:

• Stronger account protection
• Faster login access
• Elimination of OTP delivery issues
• A more seamless day-to-day experience within DisputeFox

By moving authentication directly to your mobile device, you gain both convenience and security without depending on email or SMS verification delivery.
